Assault accused get bail

A 21-year-old man was granted $3,000 bail today after entering a not guilty plea when he appeared in the District ‘A’ Magistrates’ Court on an assault charge.

Rienando Winslow Bascombe, of Stevenson Road, Kew Road, Bank Hall, St Michael is accused of assaulting Ronisha Wilkinson on February 12, occasioning her actual bodily harm.

There were no objections to bail and the self-employed man was released after he secured a surety who was acceptable to Magistrate Douglas Frederick.

In another case, Sherwin Lindon Success, also charged with assault, was granted similar bail.

The 30-year-old resident of #214 Kingsland Terrace,  Christ Church is accused of assaulting Andrew Williams on February 12.

He denied the charge and was offered bail after the prosecutor told the court there were no objections to allowing Success his freedom.

Bascombe and Success both return to court on August 9.

Meantime, Shawayne Deshawn Williams of Lot #3 White Hall #1, St Michael was not required to plead to the indictable charge of unlawfully inflicting serious bodily harm on Renico Taylor with intent to do serious bodily harm, on January 9 this year.

He is also charged with damaging a motorcar belonging to Sergio Payne, without lawful excuse, on December 29 last year.

Williams denied that charge.

There was no objection from the police prosecutor to his bail release and Williams was granted $5,000 bail.

He makes his second appearance before Magistrate Douglas Frederick on August 10.
