U.S. federal agents conduct immigration raids

U.S. immigration authorities arrested hundreds of undocumented immigrants in at least a half-dozen states this week in a series of raids that marked the first large-scale enforcement of President Trump’s Jan. 25 order to crack down on the estimated 11 million immigrants living here illegally.

Officials said the raids targeted known criminals, but they also netted some immigrants without criminal records, an apparent departure from similar enforcement waves during the Obama administration. Last month, Trump substantially broadened the scope of who the Department of Homeland Security can target to include those with minor offenses or no convictions at all.

Trump has pledged to deport as many as 3 million undocumented immigrants with criminal records.

Immigration officials confirmed that agents this week raided homes and workplaces in Atlanta, Chicago, New York, the Los Angeles area, North Carolina and South Carolina, netting hundreds of people. But Gillian Christensen, a spokeswoman for the Department of Homeland Security, which oversees Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), said they were part of “routine” immigration enforcement actions. ICE dislikes the term “raids,” and prefers to say authorities are conducting “targeted enforcement actions,” she said.

Mr Trump is such a bigot, racist etc. This is why he will bring DEATH TO THE USA. ALL nations will go up against it and pound her from all sides, and the Iranians are waiting patiently. Millions of people will be killed. Imagine you are a foreigner via that terrorist Christopher cologne aka Christopher Columbus, who took natives land for their own and now telling people they are foreigners. Notice how FLUID things are moving in the earth. From quakes, to volcanic eruptions etc. You know he even planing to rewrite the law which allows the supreme court to challenge any of his decisions. His doings will bring my freedom too. He will truly be the LOCUST Of the earth.

Jennifer guessing from your comment, it would seem as though Trump is the first and only president ever to have illegal immigrants detained or deported.Shouldn’t countries have control over their borders? For instance, how do you think the Jamaican government would react to 20,000 Haitians descended on their island? Do you think they would be welcome as “brothers”?

@Mike – The thing is that you are surely misunderstanding me. I agree with Mr Trump totally and to what the outcome will be for his stolen country. There was a disclosure of a London Chatham house study last week on the views of the EU regarding trump views on immigration and there was a 55% agreement with him. 20 plus percent was neither here or there. He is the voice of most of his people. HE has every right to defend what is NOT HIS. This is what conquerors do. He can take what he get too. Regarding Jamaica – if my people was not so brain washed, indoctrinated with so much LIES and deception and omissions from their history they would actually realize that the Haitians and the Jamaicans ETC was taken from the same areas of the West Coast of Ghana from Fort OIDAH AND BENIN BY THE BRITISH, and the SPANISH ON THOSE SHIPS then the FRENCH who came in later to conquer. Then what would this equal = they are brothers. PRIDE AND not taking RESPONSIBILITY IS A Bitc*. It will cause much destruction on the earth very soon. WOE TO HIM WHO BUILD A TOWN WITH BLOOD.

We had a Prime minister who sent back the Guyanese but the way things things look we may be the ones having to go to Guyana. It happened at least 3 times already and they say that History repeats its self.
