Couple Carnival bound

Matthew Durant didn’t have any plans to participate in Trinidad and Tobago’s Carnival this year, even though he has done it once before. But thanks to Capital Media, he and his girlfriend Tracie Ifill will travel to the twin-island republic on February 23 for a week of revelry.

They were the lucky winners of Capital’s Carnival Connection promotion, which included an all-expense paid trip to one of the greatest carnivals in the Caribbean.

Durant, using the hashtag #capitalcarnivalconnect, shared the flyer on his Facebook page and tagged Ifill and Capital Media personality Kirk Brown. However, never in his wildest dreams did he expect to walk away with the grand prizes.

“We feel awesome, exuberant, excited, everything,” said an elated Durant.

Those sentiments were reiterated by Ifill who remained in disbelief and shock as she and Durant were presented with their prizes.

This will be her first time experiencing Trinidad and Tobago Carnival.

The runner-up in the competition was Ryan Benjamin, who received two tickets on Jammin Catamaran Cruises and two tickets to attend Laff-it-Off.
