Barbados records first murder for 2017

Barbados has recorded its first murder for 2017.

Police say investigations are continuing into the unnatural death of a 20-year-old Christ Church resident, who was apparently shot and killed sometime after 2 a.m. at Highland, Foursquare, St Philip.

The name of the male victim has not yet been released.

However, police spokesman Roland Cobbler said his body was found lying face down with multiple injuries by lawmen who responded to a report received around 3:15 a.m. Thursday.

They are urging anyone with information on the homicide to come forward.

Last year this island recorded 23 murders in total.

It makes you wonder if there is proven ballistics on Barbados to identify if the gun which this person was shot with, is new on the scene or how many other shootings this gun was involve in…
Visiting barbados having a game of dominoes sipping couple banks and listening to some young men conversations as like 8 year olds, hearing that you can hire a gun , kill some one and give it back to its owner……….

I don`t understand how the bajan police can`t use a sting operation to see who is renting the guns and also when a person is convicted for a crime in which a gun was used, I can`t ever remember the charge including the use of the fire arm.

the person who wrote the article, should have put a coma by “lawmen”, not using the coma, make it sound like the lawmen were the ones who killed the victim, and it makes the sentence not clear. Its very important to use your punctuations. On another note, all these killings have something to do with either drugs or the drug trade. People love to look the other way when it comes to drugs in your neighborhood, but its best to loose some friends and clean up your neigborhoods of so many young men coming in your neighborhood with violent behavior, and tearing down the place, making the neighbors scared and unsafe. Take note of abandon homes or vacant lots where most young men, and women use to destroy the place.

they need to bring back the death penalty, not they spend 10 years in prison and then come back out.

Sorry to say this problem did not come from a one trip pony, it is multifaceted. Mind you the ones who are sitting silent are solely responsible. This situation has progressed over several years, just look and see. And it will continue too. The problem is that these young men are not venting their issues/anger to the correct place.
