Student gets Christmas ‘work’ for assault charge

A student has to use his Christmas holiday to complete 80 hours of community service after pleading guilty to an assault charge yesterday.

Romario Darian Antonio Osbourne, a 22-year-old resident of 2nd Avenue, No. 9 West Terrace, St James, admitted to unlawfully assaulting Raquele Thomas on December 11.

According to the facts, the two had been in a relationship for the past four years. On the mentioned date, the complainant was about to leave home when Osbourne approached Thomas and an argument ensued.

Osbourne pushed her several times and the incident was reported to police.

Osbourne must return to the District ‘A’ Magistrates’ Court, presided by Magistrate Douglas Frederick, on January 24, 2017, for a report on his progress.
