Neighbours discover man’s body at his home

The body of a man in his late 60’s was removed from his Quakers Road, Carrington Village home last night, after residents sounded the alarm when they realized they had not seen him in three days.

Residents told Barbados TODAY they had found it unusual that they had not seen Gregory Chase leave his home in recent days, or even sit on his patio as he was used to doing.

The body of the former accountant was discovered whey they entered the house.

An elderly neighbour who did not gave her name, but said she had known the deceased for many years, said he lived alone and had no immediate family.

She said Chase was a quiet and mannerly gentleman who exchanged pleasantries with those he came into contact with during his short walks.

“He used to speak when he saw you. He does not really have any family alive, that I know about. His mother was living there with him, she died and he was living there all alone. He did not have any children; he died alone,” the woman said.
