Two face 13 charges for Wharf Road shooting

COURT TODAY BLOCKAn 18-year-old man is one of two young people facing multiple indictable gun-related charges in connection with a shooting on Wharf Road last Sunday.

Police arrested and jointly charged Orlando Diego Romell Ellis of Morris Gap, Westbury Road, St Michael and 20-year-old Kadeem Jalani Maycock of Nelson Street, The City with 13 offences.

They appeared before Magistrate Kristie Cuffy-Sargeant in the District ‘A’ Magistrates Court F morning, accused of using an unlicensed firearm on August 7, as well as one count of intentionally causing serious bodily harm to Ronisha Wilkinson and Kymani Lewis on that same date.

The two also face five counts of unlawfully and recklessly engaging in conduct which placed five persons – Tristan Brathwaite, Baggio Boxill, Kyle Gill, Kohbi Carter and Shaquan HInds – in danger of death or serious bodily harm.

Maycock was represented by attorney-at-law Shadia Simpson, while Romain Marshall was Ellis’ legal representative.   

The two were remanded until September 9.

    Dem should have their brains examined…. popping off shots in a heavily crowded public place. Hmmm…assuming dem have brains.
