Jordan steals bottle of rum to pay for motorcycle

COURT TODAY BLOCKFor stealing a bottle rum, a Christ Church man was given a three months prison sentence today when he went before Magistrate Douglas Frederick in the District ‘A’ Magistrates’ Court.

Ryan O’Neal Jordan, 38, of Vauxhall, Christ Church admitted committing the offence at Massy Express Store yesterday and running out of the establishment on to Rockley Main Road.

Jordan was caught by security personnel and returned to the store.

When he was searched, a bottle of VSOR Cockspur rum was found in the bottom of his right pants leg.

He had secured the rum by pushing the pants leg into the shoe.

The thief, who has had many convictions, later told police he stole the rum “to pay the man for fixing my motorcycle”.
