Holder a ‘gracious daughter of our region’

Secretary General of the Caribbean Tourism Organization (CTO) Hugh Riley has expressed sadness at the passing of Norma Holder, former principal of the Barbados Community College (BCC).

The former musician passed away early Sunday morning, following a brief illness. She was 79.

Riley joined others in paying tribute to the late Holder ahead of a media conference this morning to announce the performance of the Caribbean tourism industry for 2015.

“Two days ago the Caribbean lost an accomplished and very gracious daughter of our region, Norma Holder. Please join me and the entire CTO family in expressing our prayers and sympathy to Jean Holder, Mrs Holder’s husband, to their daughters and the family of Norma Holder. May she rest in peace,” said the CTO Secretary General.

Norma Holder’s husband, Jean Holder, was the CTO’s first Secretary General from 1989, a position he held until his retirement in 2004.
