Teenager facing gun charge

A teenaged boy allegedly found with a pipe gun is set to appear in the District ‘A’ Magistrates Court today.

The 16-year-old boy has been charged with the illegal possession of a firearm and possession of an offensive weapon (flick knife).

He was held while police were carrying out an operation at Valerie Land, Brittons Hill, St Michael on Thursday.

According to police public relations officer Acting Assistant Superintendent David Welch, while police were carrying out the operation, the teenager was seen with other persons and ran, but was pursued and caught.

A search of the bag in his presence revealed a pipe gun, while a black flick knife was also discovered in his pants pocket.

What pipe gun? Listen boy, at sixteen you should be inventing a modern cane harvester or potato peeler or designing web pages or developing some virus protector with all the technology about the place. STUPSE!

I hope the RBPF will continue these operations for a long time. If they do it will have a big impact on crime in Barbados. Keep the good work up officers and take back the street of Barbados and make us All feel safe again in our beloved Island.

@jrsmith!!!! “This is long awaited, stop and search, you never know what you will find.” This will only last until some smart Lawyer realises that this is Grossly UNCONSTITUTIONALand challenges it in Court and wins.

@jrsmith!!!! You Said “I do hope that our police force is using the Defence force to be they security ,when they carrying out these operations.” I hope that you againg realises that what you are requesting here is also UNCONSTITUTIONAL, as there is a Distinct delineation between the Defence Force and the Police Force (Service) and they can only “LEGALLY” operate together under a Constutional amendment. the Defence Force is Constituted for the Defence of the Island from External Aggression, on the other Hand the Police Force(Service) Is to serve and Protect the People from INTERNAL Crime and Aggression,

I notice that many people are agreeing with these CONSTITUTIONALLY ILLEGAL Stop and search activities of The RBPF, i am eagerly awaiting your Reaction, when YOU are ILLEGALLY Stopped and Searched..

When the Late Piere Elliott Trudeau wanted to sent the Military into Quebec during the FLQ Crises, the only way that could be done was to enact “the War Measures act” otherwise he would have had to go to Parliament to change the Rules. Barbados is NO Different, and they have been NO CHANGES to to our Constitution to allow any joint Police Army Patrols, the army Cannot Arrest any Citizen of Barbados under the present Laws of Barbados.

Except with his own consent, no person shall be subjected to the SEARCH of His/Her Person, or His/Her Property, or the ENTRY by OTHERS on his Premises.

Barbados Constitution –art 17-Protection against arbitary search or entry –Sometimes the same laws man creates the same laws he has to ”legally amend” to protect the welfare of the (innocents) population.

My beautiful Island Barbados– ” moment of gun crisis” finally someone had common sense to add the two protectors of the country together to rid the country of illegal guns.

    Good luck BDF-BPF
