Dexter Squires I applaud you because you highlight the madness that some ZR drivers and I quote SOME ZR drivers usage on the roads…but that is good tho that you never fall into that negative category.

I live in St. Lucy…..and I am not a zr hater, but a born and breed bajan seeing utter nonsense every morning and afternoon with over loading school children reckless and fast driving on the roads by ZRs…..in benthams…barrows road and colleton hill..this is about how the fourth accident on these roads. I saw one ZR pack with school children overturn in the cane piece not far from this accident a year ago, before that a ZR cut a tractor in half on bourbon road again with school children….the tractor was parked…it is utter lawless….so Dexter we see law abiding citizens see lawless and irresponsibility as the culprit…..not ZR hater.

I use to lay blame on the bad driving , bad drivers in Barbados ,still do, but looking at this accident and the size of the vehicle, how could 2 vehicles , this size pass safely, this a open road, this road was built for donkey carts and horse buggies’ as like my family had ,the road s are too small , no centreline marking , dangerous in itself, bet you, no speed limit , all of this blame the government , neglect of the road infrastructure ,unless this is put right, we are always going to have accidents and fatalities…
This one way traffic road …

You need to stop with your nonsense talk. Each time you blog you blame the government for people’s reckless behaviour. There is nothing wrong with that road and vehicles traverse that road all the time and you don’t hear of accidents and vehicles overturning. I drove pass Transport Board buses on this road on occasions too numerous to mention and the buses never hit me nor I them.

I would put my neck to the block that he was speeding. Take a good look at the road ad see that it is well-paved. He had to be damn well speeding. It is common knowledge that the speed limit on most rural roads is between 40 to 60km, it could be less in some areas.

On way traffic road my tail. You don’t even know the damn area.

The hatred you feel for the government is poisoning your system and addling your brain cells.

@jrsmith!!!!!! your solution “”blame the government”” is part of the problem, and does not lead to a solution for what is happening on the Roads in Barbados, in my Current Jurisdiction, whenever or wherever you are driving, the Motor Vehicle and Road Traffic Act states CLEARLY, that YOU and YOU alone MUST be in COMPLETE Control of that Vehicle at ALL Times. The size of the road has nothing to do with how the IDIOTS in Barbados drive, those Roads have ALWAYS been that size, they were not put there Yesterday. This EPIDEMIC of Vehicle Collisions lies directly at the feet of the Operators of these Vehicles, and at the feet of the RBPF who is doing Nothing to Corral the bad Drivers in Barbados.
The only thing that i would blame the Government for, is not making Overtaking on ALL road except the ABC Highway ILLEGAL, and with 100% Enforcement. Of Course Fines for non Compliance would be extremely steep with laws to enable vehicle Confiscation and disposal if necessary.
What we need is a Government and a Prime Minister that has Balls, and is NOT campaigning for the complete term of Office.

I agree with some of your comments. However, if you say A you have to say B. If you want to stop people from overtaking then the police will have to pull over people for driving way below the speed limit and holding up traffic and this do happen even on the highway. Case in point, just yesterday I was on the ABC highway and both lanes were blocked with one car going at 30 and the other about 35 and the speed limit is 80km. Nothing was in front of any of the two vehicles. Go figure. This creates road rage.

At the end of the day we have to drive defensively and with due care and attention.

Police have no authority to put anybody in a van. Where did that come from?

Some of those roads are too narrow and then there is the problem of over grown bush on both sides, hopefully these problems can be rectified before a more serious accident occurs
