Trio granted bail

Accused in Chefette brawl returns to court in april

COURT TODAY BLOCKTwo men and a woman appeared in the District ‘A’ Magistrates Court today, charged with using unlawful conduct on January 9, which was such that it caused other persons present to fear for their safety.

The charges arose out of an incident which took place over the weekend at the Black Rock branch of Chefette Restaurants.

Magistrate Douglas Frederick read the charge to each of the accused but security guard Gary Pedro Walters, 35, of Clevedale, Black Rock, St Michael, Renee Antonio Griffith, 40, of Bromefield No. 2 St Lucy and 41-year-old Charmaine Rosemary Moore, of Four Hill, St Peter, were not required to plead to the indictable offence.

I consider it silly that the Guard is being charged. The Security Guard in the execution of his function, came under attack and defended himself. They are certain members of the public, ho demonstrate a lack of respect for authority.
