However, Maxine Seales and her family still have nowhere else to go.

Right now she’s awaiting word from the Welfare Department on an alternative place for them to stay.

“I just want to get out and my concern is to get the things from out in there,” Seales told Barbados TODAY.

Her boyfriend Shawn Tudor is also looking forward to the promised assistance.

“This setting ain’t appropriate to be in. If I move certain things, everything will come down. Right now we just waiting,” Tudor said.

‘House knocked off it’s foundation’ Wunna mean the house collapsed like a pack of cards due to years of being neglected. That is not the only property in Bim in that condition. The government need to demolish unfit dwellings and rehouse the family or families in the unoccupied monopoly houses at a reasonable or affordable rent before someone lose their life in the death trap the owners have created. When a house is built it needs to be maintained i.e carry out repairs when required. A house cannot repair itself.

Mary Lou, When a house is built it needs to be maintained i.e carry out repairs when required. Meaning the owner of the property, if it is social/government housing the repairs are carried out by 80% Greater than 20% department.

The Landlord is the OWNER. It is the government responsbility to put measures in place to protect and support the tennants from rogue landlords. It’s ok for some to move on and for others it is not that easy. Wunna got a housing minister by name only. How the hell can someone blame the government, when they haven’t done a thing but taxed the life out of wunna?
