Road fatality on Black Rock

A 61-year-old man died on Black Rock Main Road, St Michael this morning.

Police spokesman David Welch has confirmed that Ian Walters of Dash Valley, St George was driving in the direction of Eagle Hall when his car swerved to the right, went off the road, struck garbage cans and stopped in a lay by.

Police and ambulance were called and he was pronounced dead on the scene.

Police say they are treating the death as unnatural.

I have known Ian from the time we started school at Parkinson School. We sat together and we were only seperated with me sitting in front of him. I was speaking about him only yesterday with a work colleague discussing his culinary skills. Ian was quiet and unassuming and always greeted me in that polite way from school days. May he rest in peace.

Condolences to the family, but is anyone concern , that family after family in Barbados , is having pain through these vehicular accidents. where is the voice of the police, the politicians in this madness.

What is going on , my feeling , lots of these cars ,which are being sold in Barbados ,are not road worthy and needs to be independently tested, to the ministry of transport, if they are not capable of doing this , import someone to do so. what is worst than the other , guns or the cars.
