He is 44-year-old Philip Greaves, who was attached to the Canine Unit.

Officer 1691, who lives alone, was discovered by family members around 12:30 p.m.

“This is a tragic situation and it is with great sadness that we confirm the death of one of our colleagues,” said Acting Assistant Superintendent of Police David Welch, who spoke to reporters at the scene.

He said investigations were continuing into the police officer’s death.

“We extend condolences to his family, his friends and work colleagues. Our thoughts and prayers are with them at this time.”

A large crowd of residents, as well as former colleagues of the deceased officer, have gathered at the scene.

Lord, please do not forsake us. Please hear our prayers, for these are un-natural, and perilous times.

Let us turn to God in times of trouble. Resorting to extremes measures, only result in sadness. All of us are confronted with what is label as PROBLEMS but which are challenges, which is an opportunity to bring out the best in us, if we take full control of the situation. We need to talk to each other and reach out to one another . The Officer death is unfortunate , my condolences to his family, friends , and his work colleagues. RIP and rise in glory.
