Man bites buddy’s breast

Vendor appeals for a fine

COURT TODAY BLOCKIt was a case that resulted from two male acquaintances calling each other names yesterday that suggested they both had homosexual tendencies.

In the end, Lorenza Renaldo Mayers, one of the men, was fined $750 by a Bridgetown Magistrates Court, to be paid in three months, for biting Carlisle Thorne on his left breast. If he does not pay the fine within the stipulated time, he will spend an equivalent time in prison.

Mayers, 29, of Hothersal Tenantry No. 2, St John went before Magistrate Douglas Frederick today in the District A Magistrates’ Court.

Prosecuting, acting Station Sergeant Neville Watson told the District ‘A’ Magistrates’ Court that Mayers and the complainant had known each other for some time. After the two exchanged words on Bridge Street, The City yesterday, they began scuffling. In the process, Mayers bit Thorne on his left breast.

Today, the fruit and vegetable vendor asked the Magistrate to give him a fine instead of time.

“But what was the argument about though” asked the Magistrate, “since the two of you are friends?” “He called me something I didn’t like and I call he back something,” Mayers replied.

Questioned further, Mayers said Thorne called him a b***** (homosexual) and he called Thorne “an old girl.”
