Fire in Tudor Street

Major disaster was averted in the City early this afternoon after fire broke out in a three- storey building on Tudor Street.

There were no reports of injuries.

However, a store was damaged, mostly on the inside by the blaze, which occurred around 12:15 p.m.

The building houses several other businesses.

In all, nine fire officers, two tenders and one water tanker was put into action to battle the mid-afternoon blaze.

Every single building in Bridgetown needs to be inspected for fire safety. If you don’t pass the inspection, close it down period. This nonsense has to stop.
