Combermere defeat HC

Nicholls Baking Combermere  defeated Harrison College by seven wickets in the Sir Everton Weekes Under-13 Cricket Tournament yesterday, thanks to an excellent spell from off-break bowler Nathan Goddard McCarthy who nabbed a five-wicket haul.

Playing in Zone A at Crumpton Street, Combermere won the toss, inserted Harrison College and restricted them to 90 for eight from their allotted 35 overs. In response, Combermere scored 91 for three in 17.2 overs thanks to efforts of 27 and 20 not out respectively from Reuben Agard and Kai Rollins.

McCarthy captured his five wicket haul from seven overs which cost 29 runs. Medium pacer Matthew Forde chipped in with three wickets for 17 runs off five overs.

Harrison College struggled to find boundaries when they batted with Tor Burrowes scoring 18 runs while Jabari Hunte and Ashan Branch made 15 each.

In Zone C, Graydon Sealy lost to Coleridge and Parry by seven wickets at Bayville. Graydon Sealy won the toss and scored 83 for nine from 32 overs with Tyreke Harewood top-scoring with 16. Coleridge and Parry in response scored 84 for three from 16.2 overs.

Coleridge and Parry were excellent with the ball with Shomar Davis grabbing three wickets for 15 runs off seven overs and medium pacer Rashad Haynes taking two for ten from seven overs and Tyrell Norville two for 16 off five overs.

Kurt Lambert responded well with the bat for Coleridge and Parry with a top-score of 38 along with 20 from Ray Haynes.

Bowling for Graydon Sealy, off-spinner Jaydan Crichlow captured the three wickets for 22 runs with his off-spin.
