‘Give me a chance’, man tells Magistrate

Government industrial school to be restructured

COURT TODAY BLOCKVincent Tony King must now keep the peace and be of good behaviour for the next year.

He must also participate in the drug counselling walk-in programme at the Psychiatric Hospital as well as pay Melissa Hinds $300 compensation within three months, for a tablet which he stole from her house sometime between February 20 and 23 this year.

King, who lives at Thompson Land, 3rd Avenue Licorish Village, My Lords Hill, St Michael, pleaded guilty to entering Hinds’ home and stealing $2427.55 in items, including a television, DVD player, tablet and other items.

All of the items were recovered apart from the   $300 tablet.

On the last occasion, King told acting Magistrate Alliston Seale that he did not feel fit to plead and wanted to go to the Psychiatric Hospital for evaluation.

When he returned last Friday, King asked for “one more chance”.

“Just give me a chance Sir . . . You like God to me today. I feel like I in hell but put me back in heaven,” he beseeched.

The well digger must pay the compensation in three months or he will spend three months in prison. If he breaches the bond, he will forfeit $750 forthwith or spend nine months in jail.
