Bim goes down in first two games

COSTA DEL SOL, El Salvador –– Barbados Beach Soccer team have lost their two opening matches in the CONCACAF Beach Soccer Championship being held in El Salvador.

Playing at the Estadio Futbol Playa on Saturday Barbados were beaten 10-4 by the Bahamas. Scoring for Barbados was captain Tito Beckles who netted in the fifth minute. This was after Bahamas’ Lesly St Fleur had got on the scoresheet in the second minute. Barbados went 2-1 down when Ehren Hana scored in the fourth minute.

Akeem Bourne made it 2-2 in the seventh minute and Duan Best’s ninth minute strike gave Barbados a momentary period of ascendancy before Gary Joseph locked the scores again in the tenth minute. Though Bourne would score again in the 17th minute the Bahamians would run riot over Barbados for the rest of the encounter.

Goals from Gavin Christie (20th), Nesley John (21st and 22nd), Joseph (23rd and 32nd) and St. Fleur again in the 26th and 28th minutes put the match out of Barbados’ reach.
