Constant project to be completed soon

About 30 Barbadian householders should soon be moving into the National Housing Corporation’s (NHC) housing development at Constant, St George, with the project set to be completed in about a month.

Minister of Housing Denis Kellman gave that update last night, while responding to a question at the Democratic Labour Party (DLP) branch meeting in the Pine.

“I visited that last week and I’m happy with the progress that is going on,” Kellman said of the project which was initially a joint venture between the NHC and CLICO before the insurance company collapsed.

The development was intended to accommodate 65 houses but was stalled for five years.

Kellman said the 30 houses that were already erected before the project stalled, are almost done.

“The holdup at Constant had nothing to do with us, it had to do with CLICO, and we had to get out of that arrangement. We are out. We have the workmen on the site.”
