People need to understand that the search yesterday was mobilised by the family. What has his family done? Are they expecting other people to do it for them. Lead and ppl will follow.

Is this a test to see if people would come together as they did yesterday? If so its off to a bad start. There is no picture, no mobilization, and seem like the only thing known is from the paper who is limited with information.

When was the last time a Caucasian person went missing?
When was the last time a Caucasian woman went missing in Barbados
When was the last time a Caucasian woman with a stable social background , middle upper class went missing in Barbados?
The answers to the above questions are ; never happened
Don’t you think that with this never happening before and under the circumstances in which she disappeared that this would cause anxiety and concern among the minority group and right thinking citizens
How often do ordinary black bajans go missing ; practically every day. in light of this frequency, do you think that such frequency would evoke the same response as yesterday.
And most of these persons that go missing, isn’t there always some motive behind it(missing school girls, drug related etc)
Furthermore, most of you here were not even considered being born when we had the infamous cane field murders in the 80’s where women were being raped and murdered and dumped in the cane fields.

My dear, How by simply asking logical questions can classify me as a racist or classist. Can you provide the answers ?Do you understand the meaning of the words you wrote. It is clearly you cannot carry on a logical intelligent conversation without becoming subjective and discriminatory. It shows up your weakness in your argument and by the way, that speaks to the level of maturity and intelligence that you are capable of

@ Victoria , you are missing the point regarding my questions. The situation of the missing Bajan white is not a usual event coupled with the fact that it came about under some unusual circumstances , hence the anxiety and the concern and response,

      @ Lucia,

Response highly predicted and anticipated. And yea, I don’t have the intelligence to call people names and become discriminatory just because a different prospective was put forward to what I articulate.

There is no reason for people to be scathing regarding the search effort. I note comments in various forums where the whole issue of colour is coming to the fore. Why??
The family and friends of the missing woman started the mobilisation of search parties in advance of the police getting involved and through the use of social media the whole issue came to the attention of the media.

I wish people would stop the colour comments as anyone could mobilise a search party for their love ones, but has it happened to this degree in the past? I think in most cases it was left to the police force to undertake the search.

I do hope that this is a lesson learned for the nation and should there be another family affected, they use this as a template to effect a search.

Leave out colour and become our brother’s keeper and get involved and help the affected families.

Maybe instead of using Facebook to show the nastiest side of our people, in this electronic rum shop we could instead use the technology to create a MISSING IN BARBADOS group with pictures of everyone who is missing… Call the pan African commission and the constituency councils and get a registry made… Get volunteers with their big open back trucks that are used for showing off more than working and stop studying “massa’s” movements.

The search was mobilise by the family so was this the first search for a missing person by a family ?? Stop using this to play down what happen the ppl aint arguing if the family start the search or not the argument is the level of government and business involvement has never gone into a Black man, woman or child.. This is the issue. Drones, horses, military forces, search plane, police, notices in supermarkets, billboards at gas stations. I never see this sort of overkill when a black child is missing or for one of the many women who were killed at the hands of a man in recent years.
