Fire destroys two buildings on Crumpton Street

IMG_20150301_111043Fire officers are at this hour battling a fire, which has so far destroyed two properties – including a house and a commercial business – at Crumpton Street, in the city.

Police are yet to determine if the house, where the fire apparently started, was an occupied dwelling. However, the owners of the other property that has been burnt to the ground – W Roach, which sells commercial business machines – were quick in arriving on the scene.

A large crowd has also gathered just outside the gates of Queen’s Park, which is directly opposite.

The blaze broke out just before 11 a.m. as Minister of Agriculture Dr David Estwick and Minister of Housing Denis Kellman were touring Agrofest, putting a damper on the final day’s proceedings for the annual exhibition, which is taking place in the park next door. Four fire tenders responded to the fire.

Mr. Roach and staff have become like family more than friends since I started doing business with them, I am so sorry for their loss.
