Sandals Barbados welcomes first guests

Sandals Barbados opened its doors today following a US$65 million upgrade of the Dover, Christ Church resort.

General Manager Josef Zellner said all restaurants, rooms and suites were ready for guests coming to the chain’s latest addition on Barbados’ south coast.

Kelly and Janet Rumpf from Canada were the resort’s first guests.

“Today is a remarkable day in the history of our company. We are absolutely thrilled to be here in Barbados, one of the leading destinations in the world. Sandals and Barbados are a perfect fit which visitors will be enjoying for many years to come. This dream has been a long time coming and we are happy to finally be here,” Zellner said.

More than 600 employees are employed with the new property that boasts 280 rooms and suites and ten restaurants.

    Been sandals in Jamaica and at breaches a few years ago with my son. Its been excellent, the food and service fanatics. I’m in discussion with my partner about going to sandals Barbados,I think the south of France might come out on top this time.
