Red reign

Red House are the newly crowned athletics champions of St George Primary School.

At their inter-house sports at the National Stadium today, Red House collected 401 points to distance themselves easily from Green House who finished the day on 349 points. Blue House tallied 294 points for third place and last year’s winners, Yellow House, had to settle for fourth spot with 271.

Victrix ludorum Doneisha Moore played a major role in the under-13 girls’ division for Red House. She was unbeatable in the open 600m which was the first event of the day, and also thrashed the field in the 400m, 200m and 100m.

Tristan Gill of Green House was the king of the track, winning the under-nine boys 150m, 100m and placing fourth in the 80m which earned him the victor ludorum title. Tyreke Crawford of Red House captured the under-13 boys’ age group by winning the 100m and 200m. The under-nine girls division belonged to Shatara Jones of Blue House who won the 100m, 150m and settled for second in the 80m dash.

Jaquon Pilgrim of Yellow House won the 100m and 400m to take the under-11 boys division, while among the girls Tanico Codrington of Blue House delivered big wins in the 100m and 200m and placed fourth in the 400m.

The little under-sevens also had their turn to run and there was a tie among the girls between Ayesha Wood of Green House and Kya Rowe of Red House. Wood won the 50m and came second in the 80m and Rowe won the 80m and placed second in the 50m. Tequon Callender of Yellow House topped the under-seven boys with victories in the 50m and 80m dash.
