Green out front

Green House are in prime position to retain their athletics title at Luther Thorne Memorial Primary.

At the end of today’s competitive inter-house sports at the National Stadium, Green House were out front on 317 points, followed by Yellow House on 272, Red House on 220 and Blue House on 208 points. The overall winner will be decided next week Tuesday at the Samuel Jackman Prescod Polytechnic’s ground when the juniors get their turn on the track to add points to their respective houses.

There were a few good performances on the track today from the seniors and among them was Christoph Yearwood of Green House who commanded every single event in the under-13 boys division, winning the 100m, 200m and 400m and anchored his house to victory in the 4x100m relay.

In the under-11 boys’ Yazid Daniel of Yellow House was the star attraction when he delivered big wins in the 100m, 200m and 400m and anchored his team to victory in the medley relay. Meanwhile in the under-nine boys Rashawn Bynoe stood out winning the 100m and placing second in the 150m.

The girls’ under-13 division belonged to Kezia Clarke of Blue House who dismissed all- comers in the 100m, 200m and 400m. Kishanya Smith took control of the 100m, 200m and 400m to win all her track events in the under-11 girls’ division. While in the under-nine girls, Donesha Barnett slammed the field to win the 80m, 100m and 150m.
