Flood warning extended

A flood warning for Barbados has been extended amid moderate to heavy showers that have already resulted in the closure of schools and the cancellation of some events.

Here is the latest advisory  from the Barbados Meteorological Services:

“The interaction of an upper level trough and the Inter-Tropical Convergence Zone continues to produce pockets of moderate to heavy showers, periods of rain, some isolated thunderstorms and occasional gusty winds across Barbados.

As a result the flood warning which was issued for Barbados has been extended to 6 p.m today.

Residents in low lying areas should continue to exercise the necessary caution.

This flood warning will be updated if warranted.”

Relax. It’s a lot of rain, but it isnt a hurricane,..it”s not even a tropical depression. While the weather here is inconveniencing many people, there is no real danger once due care is exercised.

I think you must be having worse weather than us in Britain. I hope it picks up for January whilst we are there.
