Rain has final say

Wesley Hall Primary and Milton Lynch Primary fans will have to wait until next week to see which team will advance to the semi-final round of the Herman Griffith Memorial Primary Schools tournament after play was abandoned due to rain at Blenheim A pasture yesterday.

Before the heavy showers came, Milton Lynch had reached 67 for four from 20.3 overs, after opting to bat first.

Janesh Jaunai top-scored with 27 but his dismissal, caught and bowled by Javon Eversley, turned out to be the last bit of action in the game as the rains arrived.

Organizers at the National Sports Council told Barbados TODAY the game would be rescheduled to next Monday at the same venue.

Meanwhile, Charles F. Broome defeated St Matthew’s Primary by 89 runs at Briar Hall, to book their spot in the semi-final.

Charles F. Broome were bowled out for 124 off 25 overs with Jade Belle getting 24, Nathan Collymore scoring 17 and Nathan Walters, 15.

For St Matthew’s, Liam Padmore took three wickets for 11 runs from five overs and Naje Buthcher, three for nine.

In response, St Mathew’s were bundled out for 35 off 15 overs.
