AG Holder talks security with Stuart

Prime Minister Freundel Stuart talked security with the United States Attorney General Eric Holder Jr today.

During wide-ranging discussions, which focused on general security issues affecting Barbados and the region, Stuart and Holder exchanged views on the drug trade, the issue of small arms and light weapons, human trafficking, and civil forfeiture of assets which are the proceeds of crime.

Stuart said that Barbados attached great importance to its relationship with the United States and was committed to the deepening and strengthening of that relationship.

In response, Holder affirmed the importance of the Caribbean to the United States and noted that the partnership they had forged had worked quite well, to the advantage of both the United States and the region.

Both agreed that the Caribbean Basin Security Initiative had been mutually beneficial.

Attorney General Adriel Brathwaite, United States Ambassador to Barbados Dr Larry Palmer, and senior government officials from both countries were present for the meeting at Parliament which lasted just about half an hour.

    Apart from TWO guys sitting looking SMUG and extremely AFFLUENT; in a little country where people are struggling to make ENDS MEET.

    The CBI under Reagan was as worthless as the rubbish at Mt.Stinkeroo. As soon as the trick on Gorbachev worked and the wall came down, we lost strategic importance.

    When there was a vote on bananas, it went to Chiquita,,,,,, we must be bananas or bonkers to believe this crap. The USA subsidizes its industries as protection against foreign interest, an poor little Barbados cannot compete,,,,, what next ????
