Tax refunds by end of month

Barbadians will begin receiving their tax refunds by the end of the month.

That’s according to Public Relations Officer at the Barbados Revenue Authority Erica Lazare.

Minister of Finance and Economic Affairs, Chris Sinckler had indicated that taxpayers would start receiving their refunds between the end of last month and early August.

When asked to comment on the delay in the distribution of the funds, Lazare dismissed claims that no money was available.

“I cannot speak to the rumours that are being circulated indicating that there were insufficient funds to satisfy the quantum of the refunds. I do not know about the origin of those rumours,” she told Barbados TODAY.

Does this article refer to INCOME tax? What about VAT refunds in which some cases have been outstanding for over a year?
