Jamaican woman fined for drugs

A Jamaican woman will have to pay $100,000 or spend two years behind bars after pleading guilty to four drug offences.

Tishana Harris, who arrived in Barbados yesterday, was handed over to police after Customs officials found nine taped packages of cannabis concealed in a false compartment of her suitcase.

The 23-year-old appeared in the Oistins Magistrates’ Court where she pleaded guilty to possession, possession with intent to supply, trafficking and importation of 36 pounds of cannabis. (PR/SD)

    It’s the drug pushers want to make ghettos of our beautiful little islands. Some of these people prefer jail to what they coming from. Fine then send them back.

    These people just downright stupid but im sure some make it through that’s why they will keep trying, its a numbers game luck of the draw kind of thing.
