Iona Viola Griffith cried as her daughter, Eleanor, read a birthday card from Governor General Sir Elliott Belgrave


Tears flowed freely from Iona Viola Griffith as she celebrated her 100th birthday today.

The Weston, St James resident was visited by Governor General Sir Elliott Belgrave, Centenarian 1Member of Parliament for the area Edmund Hinkson and family and friends.

Her daughter, Eleanor, believes her work on a plantation contributed to her longevity.
