It was an event held to raise funds for charity, but the estimated 180 guests and supporters who turned out for the Broadway To Barbados concert event were not disappointed.

The New York Broadway performers, among them acclaimed actress Andrea Rivette, who starred on in Jekyll And Hyde and Miss Saigon, put

on a memorable performance at the transformed setting at St Peter’s Bay Thursday night.

The charity organised by the recently established Broadway To Barbados Charitable Trust, aims to acquire diagnostic and special monitoring equipment for the Queen Elizabeth Hospital and fund a new Intensive Care Unit at the public health facility.

“This is not only important to those of us, who live in Barbados, but I think its critical and very important to all of you who come on vacation here in Barbados to know that in the event of some unforeseen occurrence medically, that we are working hard to ensure that you will receive state of the art medical treatment when and if you have the misfortune of going to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital,” project coordinator Robert Bourque said.
