Man charged with St Philip shooting

A 40-year-old man will appear in court today charged in connection with a shooting incident last Wednesday at Six Roads, St. Philip in which two men were injured.

Jerome Oneal Bovell, of 2nd Avenue, Spring Garden, St Michael has been charged with: committing serious bodily harm against Shamar James and Jason Blenman; affray [fighting in a public place and disturbing the peace]; possession and use of a firearm without a valid licence; unlawful possession of ammunition; and criminal damage since a car parked near the shooting was damaged.

Police public relations officer Inspector David Welch said Bovell is also facing a charge of endangering life and “theft of use”, stemming from an incident in Black Rock, St Michael on November 10.

Welch said in a release that on that night, Bovell allegedly shot at a man before stealing the car he was driving. The vehicle was later recovered.
