No primary school sports day is complete without the tug-o-war.
No primary school sports day is complete without the tug-o-war.

The action was fast and furious, and much fun too, as George Lamming Primary staged its annual Inter-House Sports Day at the Weymouth Grounds, Roebuck Street, St. Michael yesterday.

At the end of the day Purple House had a slight lead but, in keeping with the country’s present general election mood, this one is still too close to call as the youngsters will be returning to the field to complete at least eight other events on Monday before the final results can be tabulated.

However, after yesterday’s races, Purple House were on 223 points, Gold House were closely on their trail on 221.5 points, Blue House were very much in contention with 214 points and perhaps somewhat out of the running were the athletes of Red House who had only accumulated 165 points.

Barbados TODAY brings a pictorial†recap of some of yesterday’s action.
