More bubbly in the bottle

Armand de Brignac champagne, the world’s number one luxury champagne brand, distributed locally by Mount Gay Distilleries Limited, has launched a new record breaking 15 litre bottle of Ros? Nebuchadnezzar.

Committed to doing things differently and always distinctively, the luxury brand, which was first launched in 2006 and introduced to Barbados in 2011, recently announced the release of the bottle, the largest Ros? Champagne bottle ever produced.

The 15 litre vessel is the equivalent of 20 regular-sized bottles and, like the smaller editions of the Armand de Brignac Ros? prestige cuv?e, is packaged in a beautiful metalised pink bottle. Only a limited quantity will be produced each year.

Armand de Brignac champagne has become a trendsetter in creating unrivalled large format sizes. Last year saw the release of a colossal 30L bottle – which was nicknamed “Midas” after the mythological king who could turn whatever he touched to gold. To date, all Midas bottles created have been sold immediately.

In Las Vegas, the Midas has been sold for as much as US$150,000 and in London for a reported 120,000. The sight of the golden bottle, weighing more than 100 pounds and brought in by a group of strongmen, can command the attention of hundreds in an instant. No larger Champagne bottle is known to exist!

Commercial Director for Armand de Brignac champagne, Philippe Bienvenu, commented on the brand’s standout nature:

“Our regular-sized bottles certainly stand apart from others on a shelf, and larger versions are even more dramatic. We are proud to be releasing the world’s largest Ros? champagne bottle in existence. The Armand de Brignac Ros? prestige cuv?e is fresh and full-bodied on the palate with a rich and pure bouquet of red fruits up front and aromas of fresh strawberries and black currant.

“The reception to our largest sizes has exceeded our wildest expectations with the 30L Midas being impossible to keep stocked due to extreme demand. We expect the same reception for our 15L Ros? Nebuchadnezzar.”

Rameses Browne, Wine & Champagne Specialist with Mount Gay Distilleries Limited, said Mount Gay was honoured to represent such a standout brand: “At Mount Gay Distilleries we pride ourselves on supplying the market with the absolute best, whether it may be the premium products we produce here locally, or those foreign brands which we represent. Armand de Brignac is certainly one of the latter and we look forward to growing our relationship with them for years to come.”
