Engineer faces attempted miscarriage charge
The District ‘A’ Magistrates’ Court Monday heard that a mechanical engineer tried to cause a woman to miscarry.
Andre Rudolph Benskin, 25, of Mount Hillaby, St Thomas is charged with unlawfully inserting tablets into the private parts of a woman on November 19, 2016, with the intent of forcing a miscarriage.
Benskin was not required to plead to the indictable charge, and the matter was adjourned until March 15, 2017. However, he was ordered by Magistrate Kristie Cuffy-Sargeant to report to the District ‘D’ Police Station every Monday and Thursday before noon. He also has to surrender his travel documents and keep away from the victim and the victim’s residence.
