TRINDAD – Black Friday misery

PORT OF SPAIN – Black Friday turned out to be misery for many, with murders in south Trinidad, the tragic death of a child in Whiteland, and floods across much of the island.  Bad luck extended to the Priority Bus Route, and the Solomon Hochoy and Uriah Butler highways where there were multiple collisions including the one pictured.

However, the police report that the two people pulled from this wreck did not suffer life threatening injuries.

The three-vehicle smash up on the highway sent two people to hospital.

The crash occurred around midday on the south-bound lane of the Uriah Butler Highway in the vicinity of the Divali Nagar site in Chaguanas.

Police said that on roads slick from overnight rainfall a 4×4 pickup truck and a three tonne truck crashed head on.

A car also collided with the two trucks.

Officers of the Highway Patrol responded, Chaguanas Fire Station and paramedics responded.

Two people were taken to the Chaguanas District Health Facility and are said to be in stable condition.
