“Its an exciting feeling. It’s like performing for the president. But I will be performing for the Prime Minister on the 30th so I’m also excited about that. All the legends are going to be there on the 25th and it’s going to be a great, great show,” she said.

Alleyne is known best for songs including A Thing About You, Stand By Love, Midnight Blue and many more, which she promised to deliver on the night.

Promoter of the show Andre Craig of 246 Entertainment said the show was aimed at celebrating the island’s grand jubilee and it would have something for every Barbadian.

“We are just doing last minute promotions for this concert and I promise it’s going to be one great night. It is most fitting to have it centred on the 50th anniversary while highlighting the music that paved the way for local artistes. These people, they paved the way for young artistes,” he said.

Remembering the times we boys would ride our bicycles up to your dads place and wait under the coconut grove to see if you were at home!

One of those shows where you have to pretend that you like the acts and therefore walk with chewing gum to stop from sleeping.
