Road tennis tourney into quarters

The eight quarterfinalists in the Cave Shepherd/Berger Royale/A One Supermarkets National Primary Schools Road Tennis Championship Team Championship have been decided.

Playing Wednesday in the round of 16 at KFC Warrens, Westbury registered a 2-0 win over Grazettes; George Lamming defeated St George 2-0; St Cyprian’s beat Vauxhall 2-0; West Terrace won by default over Charles F Broome; St Stephen’s beat Bay Primary 2-1; Blackman & Gollop won 2-0 over St Jude’s; St Philip defeated St Martin’s Mangrove 2-1; and Wesley Hall dismissed Belmont 2-0.

Edwin Barnett of Wesley Hall came out on top against Belmont to ensure his team earned a place in the final.

In the quarterfinals Westbury will come up against George Lamming, St Cyprian’s take on West Terrace, St Stephen’s will combat St Jude’s and St Philip will face off against Wesley Hall.
