Police make arrests and seize illegal guns at fete in St John

A number of people were taken into police custody following a shooting incident at Clifton Hall, St John in the wee hours of this morning.

According to police, officers from the Tactical Response Unit, Major Crime and Criminal Investigation Department South were conducting an operation at an unauthorized fete in the area when they were fired upon by a number of male occupants in a car.

Police fired back but the culprits  escaped.

The officers subsequently seized a quantity of firearms and ammunition.

The Royal Barbados Police Force reiterated concerns about the increasing use of illegal firearms.

The force appealed to the public to use the anonymous means available to pass any information relating to persons in possession of illegal firearms, or areas where illegal firearms are being concealed.

Police fired back and occupants of the car were pronounced dead at the scene. If that was the article we’d be hearing why they couldn’t shoot out the tire or some similar folly. Damned if you do damned if you don’t.

Do the Police in Barbados have target practice? Why do we hear so much about criminals shooting at Police and subsequently getting away? This seem to be the recent norm. Do the police run away in fear every time there is a shooting ? If the Police in any other Country around the World is fired at by criminals ,you can bet that lethal fire is the and should be the correct response.
We seem to have a bunch of gut less Cowards in our Police force.

Don’t understand men in a car open fire on the police and escaped. This sounds more like a joke than reality.
