Burst main near Springer Memorial

A crew from the Barbados Water Authority (BWA) was today working to repair a burst 16-inch main near Springer Memorial School.

One customer who reported the incident to the BWA, said she heard the sound around 5:30 this morning.

There were reports of flooding in some nearby areas, and Barbados TODAY understands that the Belle pumping stations was shut as a result of the incident.

    The belle station would have to be still shut off as we are still without water, no water tenders dispatched as I was told by the customer rep and need is not important at this time

    All these burst mains can ONLY mean ONE thing…..PRESSURE TOO GREAT….and those in the know at the WA know that.
    A water tanker gine now take 2 or more days to be dispatched as those in charge gine now tell ya that has to be investigated first to find out what caused the burst.
    NONSENSE….the water GONE OFF… wunna KNOW THAT…SEND THE DAMN TANKERS TO THE AFFECTED AREAS.

    Is that their idea of “problem will be fixed in 4 to 6 hours”? It is now Sun 9:15am and except for a couple of hours late last night, the situation remains the same -NO WATER in Bay St. To make things worse there is no access to their telephone HOT LINE and so we remain (as is usual for this Administration) in the dark! how shameful!
