Police have arrested and formally charged 17-year-old Kwame Everton Dashawn Yearwood of Grove Tenantry, St George with the offence of serious indecency which was committed during the month of September 2016.

Yearwood was the subject of a recent social media posting showing a male engaging in inappropriate sexual conduct with a minor.

I hope that the magistrate will be very lenient with him. He is just a child who made a mistake.

a mistake that left untreated will become a bigger mistake…then to the point he would feel that he can do that to any girl/woman and get away with it

Well just being arrested & charged is enough to let him know that he cannot. This is a very young guy who got to be scared as hell right now. No need to end his future by with any draconian punishment.

17 is still a child, not his fault if adults neglect the responsibility of raising children as children. Punish with reason.

17 year olds killing ppl too. Big hard back ppl that not facing reality and thinking everything is just a little mistake is who got them so . Fifteen year olds liming and smoking , gambling in broad daylight in school clothes and all. Them days that teenagers were just young naive inexperienced persons gone long every sense . You can’t even speak to many of them about their behavior with them threatening to kill you . He know good as ass what he was doing was wrong . He ain’t a ZR conductor ? It’s part of the job description besides being musty and unkempt to interfere with underage girls

It is a make out spot. The girl is not as innocent as many are making it out to be. She is underage, so is he. He should not even be charged.
And the person who took the video is a pervert. Obviously someone who goes there & peep at the young people who make out there. That person did not take the video to alert the authorities. He/she took the video to get kicks. Probably a big grown man in his 40’s or 50’s lurking around peeping at the young girls & taking pictures. Why would someone be taking pictures thru a peephole? How did the peephole get there?
I would be more scared of that person than of a young boy who is full of testosterone who went a little too far. It is perverts like that who is the real threat to society.

However I commend you for accepting that many of our young ppl are on the wrong path and know full well what they doing . Got some school boys in my area can roll weed and gamble better than some big ass men . Them ain’t children by no means . 15 , 16 ,17 year old men more like it .

Not support, but recognize it for what it is. Sex is very in your face in Barbados. From the way how the women dress to the vulgar approaches of the men.The people who criticize this child are a bunch of hypocrites because I can bet that none of them does set any example for either the girl or the boy.

You have my agreement that this problem well out of hand . I witness with my own eyes a father beat a man for wuking up on his daughter . A 13 year old in a skirt that she could not walk in further more sit down in . I found out the age after the fact. Nothing about her dress or behavior would indicate such . I said around 18 .

I would say this . The girl needs to be corrected as well. Unless she was taken there against her own will then she should have been warned against being in such positions long before she even went secondary school by her parents etc. I however ain’t saying no 17 year old conductor ain’t know full well he wrong .

And it isnt as tho the girl is a grown-up-looking 11 or wearing anything revealing. A skinny little girl in a jeans hat anyone can see isnt grown. .

Wow…. Seems we forgot our teenage years…. She is young, trusting, impressionable, naive… But def not stupid because she stuck with no… She was there out of trust… He was there because that’s his gig… Picking cherries… Because most girls tjat age would do anything to please a fella… She’s 13/14 the most…. Why didn’t he choose an older girl? Cause they ain’t so pliable…. He knew what he was doing.
. She learned a valuable lesson…. One that will stay with her… If I know this messed up society live in ppl will drop talk to her, tell her she’s wutless etc etc…. I hope she pulls through this psychologically intact… We judge, but forget we were also young and foolish!

I agree Sharon . At least she did stick to NO. Let’s hope it’s a lesson learnt . It certainly could have ended a lot worst . Even possibly rape . However as you said most the girls at her school n in her neighborhood know it’s her in the video and she won’t be left to forget it anytime soon .

Sharon, I agree with u. But as a man I cannot forget my teenage years either. Not that I ever went so far as this guy as a teenager. Somehow I think that these guys today go a lot more overboard than we did when I was a teenager. But then again, the girls today seem to go way overboard too. Of course I may be wrong because I may just be looking at it thru adult eyes now. But in any case I dont think that this is something that should end the career of a 17 year old boy. If he was older, sure. But not at the age of 17. Just my opinion.

I will add this . We often tend to play down the seriousness of these situations without realizing the true extent of the damage . The last time that a number of schoolgirls went missing over a weekend there was supposed to be a video of them circulating via whatsapp etc. I happened to be by an individual a day who after the topic of runaway girls came up proceded to show me the video of the girls , not on no whatsapp msg but on an international porn site where it had been uploaded . I could not believe that those things went so far . This sex and videotaping it is a serious serious thing. I have even seen a video of 3 girls in a school bathroom lift up their uniforms and booty shake like straight out the strip club . That video was right here on facebook for all to see , faces n all

A straightforward question Dion . We both on the same page that a lot of young ppl on the wrong path but you don’t need to throw them under the bus at their first offense . He has been granted bail. If he is convicted what would you give him . A fine ? Community service ? Jail ? . I figure the girl will be sent for counceling or should be in my opinion because she still has to understand that wandering off in private locations with a guy and only in first form is not the brightest move. The situation could have gone from bad to worst in a split second

KEDY, What you did was so wrong. I want to ask you … Did you know each other before the grand show? Were you the stupid victim of a set-up? What was she doing with you at that location in the park I heard ? Do you think she was a virgin? If she isn’t, then she has experience. Do yu realize that if you go to prison, when you get released, you will be wearing ladies clothing and underwear? You will be able to buy KY gel from any pharmacy so don’t worry. Just look how your whole sexual preference will change because you did stupidness without thinking. I think her mother should take her to a gyno to see if she is still an angel and whether she ever see a star pitch.

I guess he got caught wid hee hand or whatever in the cookie ……. Ah .. Jar. What about the hundreds of teenagers that aren’t being sen in the act? What are we telling them?Sexual Education is on the Curriculum many Schools in big countries. Why aren’t we in Barbados not having Educators especially in high schools teaching our youngsters how to be responsible .They need to be taught self respect ,pitfalls, that lurk at every corner that might, or could come back to effect not only they lives but the lives of others.
I don’t know what will be the outcome in this case ,but some form of penalty( Not necessary severe in nature) should be the result, along with hours of Sexual education.

They geld young horses that are too aggressive ,and don’t adhere to their assigned duties. They become studish ,and instead of running to their abilities prefer to show manlihood.
They should be a law that would do the same to men that can’t control their feelings.

Based on all of what I read, the answer is education, it’s what is missing and is key to this case. They’re both very young,,and probably underage. Let’s hope the young lady wasn’t force, rape, that would be a whole different matter. The young man will quickly learn not to fool around with underage girls, because consent or not you can be jailed, but aren’t they both underage? I’m not sure of the law in Barbados.

That’s why I think sex education is the answer, not jail, it will only make matters worse. Everything and everyone is video taping the good, the bad, and the ugly! I think that’s the major problem in this case! Complete embrassement for all envolved!
