Holder fined for 2011 theft

courtA Bridgetown magistrate Tuesday found a St James man guilty of theft in an almost six-year-old case.

Troy Ricardo Holder, of 3K Central Close, Haynesville was charged on January 28, 2011 with robbing Shawn Straker of a pair of sneakers valued $250 and a chain valued $200.

The theft took place at the Pool Hall Arcade in Marhill Street, Bridgetown, where Straker went to hang out with friends.

As Straker made his way upstairs the establishment, Holder, who was there with some other men, pushed him to the ground, beat him and took away the items.

In handing down the sentence following the trial, Magistrate Douglas Frederick ordered Holder to pay
$2,500 in six months or he will spend that same amount of time in jail.
