Shooting victim identified

Police have identified the victim of yesterday’s shooting in Christ Church as 48-year-old Edward Watson of Reece Road, Britton Hill, St Michael.

Watson was working at a private residence at Golden Plover Road, Inch Marlow, Christ Church, when sometime between 1:30 p.m. and 1:45 p.m., neighbours heard a number of loud explosions. On making a check, they discovered Watson lying motionless in the patio. He subsequently died at the scene.

Police are asking anyone who can provide information to assist with their investigation to contact the Police Emergency at telephone number “ 211”, Crime Stoppers at 1-800 –TIPS (8477), the District ‘A’ Police Station at 430-7246, 430-7242, or the nearest police station.

    Now here is a public problem! Police are now challenged to perform spot identification checks on persons entering and working within communities during daytime hours. A nation with citizens lives at risk while on the job premises is not quite a healthy situation!
