Different outcomes for two thieves

courtTwo St Michael men charged with theft received different fates Tuesday, almost four years after they committed the offence.

Malcolm Marlon Archer of #26 Grazettes Main Road and Dave Adrian Ian Leon of Bibby’s Lane are charged with stealing a $500 cellular phone belonging to Chemel Headley on October 18, 2012.

Archer, who is on remand on another charge, pleaded guilty to the charge last month, while Leon admitted to committing the offence this morning when he appeared before Magistrate Douglas Frederick.

Archer was slapped with a three-month jail term at HMP Dodds, while Leon was fined $2,000 which must be paid in two months or he will spend three months in prison.
