Charges against Bascombe dropped

courtA 20-year-old man was today freed of two charges when he appeared in the District ‘A’ Magistrates Court.

Rienando Winslow Bascombe, of Stevenson Road, Kew Road, St Michael was charged with unlawfully assaulting Ronisha Wilkinson on June 21 this year.

He was also accused of entering Wilkinson’s home as a trespasser and stealing a $500 cellular phone.

While he pleaded not guilty to both offences, the complainant told the court she no longer wished to continue with the matter.

Magistrate Kristie Cuffy-Sargeant dismissed the case but not before she imposed $200 in court fees on the parties.

The money was paid.
