Seniors cop 92 medals

A contingent comprising twenty-six athletes and three officials returned home today with a record 92 medals from the Huntsman World Senior Games held in St. George, Utah, USA from October 3 to 15.

The Barbados team competed in the disciplines of track and field, basketball, table tennis, archery, cycling and lawn tennis.

The team improved on its previous medal tally and this year copped 50 gold, 30 silver and 12 bronze. This tally was 24 more than the previous year. Among those who performed outstandingly were Brenda Farley, Angela Jackson, Patrick Bourne and Ainsley Lovell.

The Ministry of Social Care, Constituency Empowerment and Community Development lauded the commitment, enthusiasm and achievements of all the senior athletes and officials who participated in the Huntsman World Senior Games.
