courtTwo St Michael residents appeared before a Bridgetown court today charged in separate assault cases.

They are: Jalisa Annette Lewis, 20, of Cave Hill Main Road and John Goddard Wood, 27, of 7E Rosemont Deacons Road.

Lewis, a student, is accused of indecently assaulting another woman on July 5, this year.

She was not required to plead to the indictable offence when she appeared before Magistrate Kristie Cuffy-Sargeant in the District ‘A’ No. 2 Court.

With no objections from the police prosecutor, Lewis was granted $4 000 bail with one surety on the grounds that she stays away from the complainant.

She reappears in court on January 16, 2017.

Meantime, Wood pleaded not guilty to assaulting
Jesseca Holder on October 3, occasioning her actual bodily harm.

However, the alleged victim told the court she was no longer interested in proceeding with the matter, and the magistrate ordered Holder to pay the court $200 in costs by October 21.

In the meantime, Wood has been placed on $500 bail and will return to court on the day set as the deadline for paying the money.
