Grant admits to robbery

A St Michael man who is already serving time at HMP Dodds has admitted to a 2013 robbery.

When Kemo Avery Grant of Holder’s Land, Goodland, appeared in the District ‘A’ Magistrates’ Court yesterday, he told Magistrate Kristie Cuffy-Sargeant he wanted to plead guilty and compensate Jacqueline Stephen whom he robbed of a $1,000 chain on May 28, 2013, when he was 18 years old.

The magistrate accepted the plea and granted the request, ordering Grant to pay Stephen $1,000 on or before November 4, 2016.

If he fails to do so, he will spend an additional 18 months in prison for the crime.

Grant’s previous sentence comes to an end on September 13, 2018.
